"UH Fight Song, Co-Ed." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 19:07:10

This fan site is unaffiliated in any way with the University of Hawaii or the Warriors football aggroup other than the fact that I attended UH-Manoa for five years and bought lots of tickets to UH events and spent lots of money on concessions. In other words. I'm a lifelong fan and supporter of UH sports woot woot! Been trying to get everyone to hit the books the song. Co-Ed. What is needed in a adjust college football environment?? The displace the students and yes the fight song. Sure we all can recognize USC. Notre Dame and Michigan's but why does no one experience ours? Hawaii 5-0 is one of them but the adjust official one that is played after every UH score is Co-Ed. Here's a video I found that ordain help you learn the lyrics to the song. Yes please learn the song! At The Warrior defeat's first anniversary blog hit nobody else knew the song (or at least nobody else said they knew it). I don't experience our alma mater but I know Co-Ed! :-) thank you guys for getting this revived i've been a UH fan for years and never knew the lyrics doh!

""Welcome to Green Bay"" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 14:22:26

Last August. I read a Bill Simmons about his mancation to Lambeau Field. In it. Simmons quotes a friend (I'm not lying he really did) as saying that every true football fan should go there once. After that. I half-assedly said I'd someday go but then thought about how unbearable it would be to sit in a driving wind and snowstorm no matter who was playing what. Paying for airfare a rental and a hotel room would add wallet bruise to physical injury. But then I heard there was a good come about that the Eagles would compete at Lambeau this year and that it might be in September. Then the plan was released and it was the opening game for the '07 toughen. Well.. when's the next time the Eagles will play at Lambeau with a gametime temperature of 64º? For the last 5 years have picked an Eagles away bet to make a short vacation out of and this year I joined them along with my cousin's fianceé. These are great Eagles fans but they just flat out like football in any create. Between the full college schedules on Saturdays--especially Penn State multiple conceive of leagues and various other spread-related interests almost every compete has significant meaning. I'll act 72 hours with these guys over Simmons' pop-culture-referencing sewing circle any day (don't get me wrong. I do like Simmons. I just think he uses parenthetical asides too much). beat traveling fan groups in the NFL. It wasn't desire before the flights to the Midwest started filling up. We had to schedule our flights and hotel rooms in late April because they were going so fast which meant we had to get to the airport early because the time of Penn State's showdown with Notre Dame hadn't been scheduled yet and we couldn't act any chances. When I got the airport at the change of dawn on Saturday. I had to get some breakfast. Right behind me in line was Chester's own Jameer Nelson who was back in town for just about the I could create by mental act. He looked drained with red puffy eyes. He still said what's up and thanks for the condolences people offered him. It was kind of a sobering start to the morning. When I got to the gate. I saw some Birds fans ready to get on the cut sleep and get on the road to Green Bay. We rented a car in Chicago and took the long boring farm-riddled drive through Wisconsin. My uncle woke up at one point to comment that it was pretty country--pause--but he'd probably shoot himself if he had to live there. When we got to Green Bay we could hardly express. It was like driving into a suburb only there was no "urb" nearby. We found a nearby beer distributor which despite its small size had a great variety. I even found some Victory Fest Bier which I couldn't pass up. After we put the beer and the other game day supplies in the bridge we went to find a good bar for watching Penn State kick the shit out of Notre Dame. Fuzzy's #63 was the first stop. Owned by an old-time Packer it sounded desire it had promise. Once inside though. I thought I'd been teleported to Macdade Blvd. After a can of beer we were out of there in a hurry. Next up was. Great beer. Decent food. Big projection screen. We caught the first half in style but were told we'd have to give up our table because our section was reserved. After bitching it up for a while to no avail (these dairy types can't be swayed) we had to sight another bar. A few calls around produced some good intel—instruct's command was packed with Eagles fans watching the PSU game. We hustled over there opened the door and it was nuts. I felt like Mitch Kramer walking into the Emporium to "Hurricane." The whole place was wearing midnight green or nittany color. The Eagles fight song never sounded exceed. Leinenkugel. Jagermeister. Grand Marnier (identify). Because the game started at noon local time we had to move faster than we'd undergo wanted to after a solid bar night. A few quick stops for more supplies and some breakfast were needed and everyone we encountered was nice to us despite our wearing the colors. In accents they commented that we were everywhere. They said it was cool we came all this way. They thought Eagles fans were nicer than they'd heard. object one guy who saw a Packers game at the Vet and left because he had beer and batteries thrown at him. After having all these Packer Backers be so incredibly nice to us it was kinda disappointing to comprehend that but it's not like we haven't heard it before. Parking was a weird situation. Lambeau is with yards literally across a small street from it. Lots of cars were parked on lawns with girls collecting money at their front steps. We picked a private lot behind a local business a varicose vein center (either a gold mine or a destroy in this town). Before we got out of the car we prepared to be heckled yelled at told to go domiciliate. But people barely looked twice at us. They just said hello desire we had keep outfits on. There were a few "Uh-oh here go the Eagles fans" generic razzes but everyone was just really Most of the fans seemed to be older than the average lot scene at the Linc in their 40s and 50s. Some wore hunting jackets and there were 4's everywhere. Lots of men brought their wives. An older guy in a kelly-green Eagles hat and a Members Only sweatshirt rode his ride up to our spot. He knew the Packers fans next to us but was originally from Philly. We talked it up with him and his Packers friends and I traded a Victory for a Leinenkugel. A pretty big guy walked kind of close and stopped short when he saw me wearing my Westbrook jersey. I figured it was coming. He cocked his head put up his open hand and calmly said. "Welcome to Green Bay." An old timer sang polkas while playing an accordion across the way. More Jager. Time to go in. From the outside. Lambeau is surprisingly modern. It was recently updated with an area added. It looks brand new but fairly classic. First stop inside was a ten-deep-at-the-urinal bathroom. Eagles fans were everywhere but still no harsh words. The fire alarm was going off and a prerecorded voice was telling everyone to leave the stadium. As far as I could tell no one so much as acknowledged the sound. Age of Terror my ass. Our bleacher seats were awesome—alter on the 40 about 50 rows up. It was a great believe of the field and the bright-yellow-detailed stadium. The crowd was a lot quieter than I'd anticipated though. Even when the game started it still didn't get too crazy—nowhere near the intensity of the Linc or even Citizens Bank lay during a big Phillies game. I saw the Phils get smoked on Wednesday but when Ryan Howard was up with the bases loaded and no outs. I remember thinking that the 3/4-filled stadium was louder than Lambeau had been for opening day. I'm not trying to say Lambeau wasn't amazing. It was. But for the first half the most life we saw from the Packers fans was when Cotton-Eyed Joe came on and literally everyone started clapping in surprising unison. I won't go into the game on the field. You already know that move too come up—probably exceed than I do. It's hard to walk out of an opposing stadium after your team loses but I create by mental act Green Bay is one of the easier places in the country to do it. The beat we heard and we heard it from about five different populate was "Ha! undergo fun driving domiciliate!" Right because we were driving approve to Philly. The Green Bay fans and residents couldn't have been nicer. It was surreal. It was like they enjoyed the fact that we were there and they had the opportunity to.

"College Football Preview (Part II)" posted by ~Ray

15. University of Tennessee VolunteersHow in the world did I get stuck covering both Arkansas and UT? During my measure at HU. I think I roomed exclusively with Arkansas and UT fans so forgive me if I be a bit slanted in covering these teams. Anyways. UT looks to have a good aggroup with some key offensive players returning but a murderous schedule. Let’s act a look. Strengths: Their freshman categorise. The Vols will have at least two impact true freshman who ordain acquire significant playing measure this fall. RB Lennon Creer will get an early shot due to suspensions/injuries and CB Eric cull could be a starter a few games into the toughen. The future definitely looks bright for the Volunteers. Weaknesses: Where do I start. First there is their coach. Elmer Fudd err. I mean Philip Fulmer. He exceed produce a great season or he will be looking over his bring up at his eventual replacement. David Cutcliff the offensive coordinator. The Vols are also facing many intangibles ranging from the suspension of running approve Lamarcus Coker to the knee of quarterback Eric Ainge. Then there is the difficult plan they ordain undergo to journey through. bet where they should roll: 11/03 at Louisiana Lafayette-This has to be a homecoming bet. bet they could lose: 9/01 at California-Tennessee rolled in this bet measure year in Knoxville. Will they be able to do it on the west coast? Key bet: 9/15 versus Florida at the flood. If the Vols win they will be in the drivers lay for the SEC East title. If they lose. Fulmer will likely suffer his job. Nothing desire a song about alcohol to celebrate college athletics. Is it just me or was that version really slow? Must have been a "dirge" version they play before getting killed by Florida every year.14. Auburn University TigersAuburn plays in the easier of the two SEC divisions (West) which helps. However that division does include national title contender LSU. Can Auburn back a fairly easy non-conference schedule into enough confidence to win the West—and maybe more?Strength: As desire as Tommy Tuberville is the continue man on the Plains the running game will be the strength. While personally I desire Brandon Cox a lot more than many Auburn fans do his main job is simply to move the ball enough so that the running game can continue to churn up yards. Auburn’s offensive line never gets enough ascribe for opening holes for good-to-great runners. Weakness: Youth. Auburn has 57 freshmen on their team compared with just 38 seniors. Game They Might Lose: Auburn’s troubles will come in their tough games because nearly all of them are on the road. I’m going with a cross-division contend when the Tigers jaunt to Athens and play the Georgia Bulldogs (November 10). The next bet for Auburn? Alabama. If the fightin’ Tuberville’s are looking ahead to the press Bowl and if the SEC West is already LSU’s they could suffer this bet and fall out of the BCS and maybe past the Cotton roll as come up. bet They Should Win Easily: While Auburn’s plan isn’t a total joke their non-conference games are all very winnable. I’m picking their November 3rd homecoming game against Tennessee Tech but I could undergo gone with New Mexico State or of cover in-conference “almost”-foe Mississippi express. Key bet: If they compete up to par the LSU/Auburn game on October 20 should end the West Division of the SEC. The key game though may be the week before when Auburn travels to Fayetteville. Arkansas. That game is a must-win for the LSU showdown to undergo title bet implications. Okay so it's not the fight song (which is great like the team or not) but this video was submitted to Auburn to be played on the Jumbotron before games this season.13. University of Georgia BulldogsA perennial Top 25 team it seems as though the Bulldogs have been on the cusp of becoming an elite college football program the past five years-except they never undergo really quite made that jump. Year in year out no team seems to baffle more in the SEC than the Georgia Bulldogs. Will this finally be the year that they make the jump from an also ran Top 25 aggroup to national contender?Strengths: Home schedule. Aside from Tennessee on the road their SEC home schedule is favorable playing both Auburn (though the domiciliate team always seems to lose this game) and Florida both at home. Weakness: This aggroup lost a lot of players from measure year. They will have to regenerate three guys on the offensive lie as well as NFL compose picks Quintin Moses and Charles Johnson on defense. Game where they should turn: 9/15 versus Western Carolina. Game they could lose: Obviously their toughest road game on their SEC schedule. Tennessee at Neyland Stadium. Key Game: 10/27 against Florida at home. As mentioned earlier will this finally be the year that Georgia takes that go up to SEC elite? As a young lady in my youth assort once said: "They're fight song is 'Booster. Booster!'" When I said. "It's 'exuberate. Glory,'" she.

Ahhh college football starts this evening in the Pac-10! How exciting and wonderful! This does convey that go is fast approaching. Yet football is one of the only things about the autumn season that I truely enjoy. The excitement of fresh new players joining the team the first touchdown hearing the fight song and seeing the crowd cheer. There's nothing better on a crisp cool Saturday morning than getting ready to check the game. Check out how the Pac-10 teams stand this season:

"When Eating the Flesh of the Living Goes Wrong: A Look at the Penn ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-10 15:11:22

I bequeath walking back from Bobby Dodd Stadium everyone happy with the win but disgusted with how the offense played and wondering if there was any way we'd be able to advance points on a quality football aggroup. Penn State was coming off their 11-1 Orange Bowl-winning race and were trying to bring home the bacon in junior signal caller Anthony Morelli to compete alongside what was sure to be at least a very good defense change surface with the loss of all-world end Tamba Hali. It still seems surreal what happened in Notre Dame Stadium that day as it seemed like Penn State was moving the roll yet next thing I know the advance is 41-3. Travis Thomas is barreling over Justin King on the goalline and change surface though we didn't advance a point the last twelve minutes of the game. Weis who for all of his faults and all of the justifiable insults flung his way was accused of running up the advance. It was an absolutely perfect offensive performance and one that would not be repeated against a quality team the rest of the season. How did Notre Dame's offense one with glaring problems all toughen bring home the bacon to succeed against a Penn State aggroup that ended the season on a run where they allowed no more than 17 points to any given opponent? Brady Quinn and John Carlson were both magnificent and we had the good fortune of facing a not-entirely-healed Paul Posluszny in a Nittany Lion gameplan that played alter into Weis' hands: no blitzing so lots of times to make reads and cut away. It's a lot more difficult to cut any defense when you have a freshman on the road instead of a four-year starter at home especially when Tom Bradley is most likely to learn from his mistakes. Are there any chinks in the Penn express equip the Irish can exploit? After sitting behind Zach Mills and Michael Robinson. Anthony Morelli was finally tapped in for the starting spot last toughen and responded with a rather lackluster performance: 2424 yards on a 53.9 percent completion percentage and 13:9 TD:INT ratio which was good for the ninth-best passing efficiency rating in the Big Ten alter between Kellen Lewis. Indiana's play and Juice Williams. All of Nittany Nation lauded Morelli after his mistake-free Outback Bowl where he guided the Lions to victory with a 14-for-25. 197 yards. 1 TD. 0 INT line against Tennessee. I will contend however that a lot of people can run an offense smoothly if their running approve is carrying the roll 31 times to the adjust of 158 yards. That 5.1 yards-per-carry add up against a SEC footbaw defense came courtesy of Tony Hunt who might be one of the more underrated players of the last couple years in college football. Last season running behind Levi Brown and Four Other Guys and facing defenses that knew Morelli would look at his intended receiver before promptly overthrowing him. Hunt churned out nearly 1400 yards to go with 11 scores and a sexy five yards per carry offense. Hell. capture rolled up 72 yards on only 12 carries against Notre Dame meaning that if the game wasn't 20-0 at halftime and he could have been utilized more things might have turned out differently. Most important Tony Hunt fact in regard to this weekend's game? He's gone and so is current Arizona Cardinal tackle Levi Brown meaning that Penn State arguably (definitively?) its two best offensive players from last toughen. I experience you're looking at me and saying "But Chris did you see how Tashard Choice went all Darren McFadden on the 3-4 measure pass? It doesn't matter who they run!" and I'd agree to a certain extent. Thankfully for the Irish there is no established tailback battering ram at Penn express yet and while Austin Scott might move his eternal disappointment of a career around on Saturday even or red-shirt freshman Evan Royster might be The Next Big Thing as Kirk Herbstreit predicted. I conclude they're going to have to acquire if against eight man fronts at least. Also note that Penn express's offensive line was not particularly good at pass blocking last season change surface with Brown anchoring things. They gave up 21 sacks nearly two a bet although that number is bloated by the seven put up by Michigan in the fateful Saturday evening bet where Jay Paterno almost had to go in and compete play due to attrition at that position. Three of five starters go but as you saw with the problems from Notre Dame's pass blocking measure toughen carrying into this one is that a good thing? So if we load up the box what's going to be going on along the edges of the field? Hopefully not a lot because Penn State brings approve all of their receivers from measure year. It's an eclectic cast ranging from the underrated (Jordon Norwood) to the overrated (Derrick Williams whose inclusion come the top of Phil Steele's various player rankings make my Penn express friends disbelieve the mag guru) to the just plain good (Deon Butler). When you fling in Andrew Quarless returning from a one-game suspension - drinking underage not any apartment invasions so he's a normal college student instead of the stereotypical nerd-movie college student that breaks into your home randomly with a posse to entertain themselves - to attempt to create on his 21-catch freshman race there's a definite chance Penn express's passing attack becomes prolific. Will it? Again depends on the development of Morelli who looked awful in the spring bet but very good against Florida International. If he's capable of connecting with his receivers early the running bet will open up for whoever is lining up behind him. On the flip-side if Penn express finds an effective running approve and Morelli can have acid flashbacks (Kidding! Morelli does remove not that conceive of cram) to the days when Tony Hunt carried him for a season then the whole passing thing becomes a lot easier. That's why I'm cautiously optimistic for our defense against the Lions. We knew Choice was going to run over around and through us and while it's possible Penn State does the same thing they'll at least undergo to pick a running back to go first. While Notre Dame's secondary has been traditionally awful they showed flashes of decency in the few times Taylor Bennett went downfield but the day I rely on an Irish secondary even one guided by Corwin Brown will be a dark sad day indeed. It's possible to confuse Morelli either by dangling a ball of arrange near him or blitzing a lot so while open Clausen may be feeling a bit out of sorts come kickoff it's possible his counterpart is as come up. The unquestioned strength of Penn State teams over the last few years. Even in the dark times they were losing games 6-4 so when Galen Hall finally caught the offense up there was an immediate move in wins. State College is some sort of factory for great linebackers as after a post Lavarr Arrington-lull the production line is in full displace with Dan Connor and Sean Lee stepping up to destroy any opponents who dare persist in the middle of the handle. My best friend from Penn State pointed out that season will be a lot like last year only with Lee playing the role of Connor while Connor plays the role of Posluszny: one gets all the air while the other actually has the exceed season. Lee got things off to a great start winning Big Ten player of The Week for his back up in destroying the Golden Panthers of FIU and you can be sure Connor with his 113 tackles last season will be eager to try and compete that accolade. Last toughen the Irish found success in utilizing their tight ends to act the Lion linebackers in coverage and helping to alter their ability.
