"My Game for Week 1: Notre Dame at Georgia Tech" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-30 19:55:17

Later this afternoon. I’m flying from Chicago to Atlanta for the ND-GT game. Then Saturday morning the fun begins: College GameDay is broadcasting live from Tech campus starting at 10:00 AM ET and the bet doesn’t kickoff until 8:08 PM ET so it will be a marathon start to the college football season for me. It will be my 174th college football bet for which I’ve been in attendence. But it will be my first time ever seeing Georgia Tech and consequently my first game at Bobby Dodd Stadium in downtown Atlanta. Expectations of Notre Dame are higher than they’ve been in over a decade. I have the Irish ranked #1 in my preseason Top 25. But are the Yellow Jackets capable of stunning the Irish in the opener? While Calvin Johnson is an All-American wide receiver quarterback Reggie Ball is just too erratic and the Jackets’ secondary is thin and inexperienced. Brady Quinn should have a field day throwing the ball downfield to Jeff Samardzija and Rhema McKnight. <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <label> <em> <i> <touch> <strong>

Much needed revenue for players that would desire a large administer of the toughen while on duty at the African Cup of Nations that takes place in the middle of the season. However Mido’s broach broke down over personal terms and Ghaly was almost a Birmingham City player but was sent packing when he allegedly complained about the training and the Blues squad. Danny Murphy is another player who could act to new pastures he has been blighted by injury and off the issues and has not managed to make the impact that was expected of a ‘Champions League’ player. He has also been linked to a midlands club that play in Blue as come up as a move Wigan which he may prefer as it would act him closer to his North West roots. conceive of Football At A Funny Old bet A new toughen is upon us and both players and managers are all stating their ambition for the toughen ahead some being more bold than others while some are reflecting philosophical musings to confuse the press. Ghaly has agreed and ordain join the Blues subject to receiving a work permit. The 25 year-old ordain be glad to undergo a new home after his very public outburst in the penultimate game of measure season at home to Blackburn. Ghaly threw his shirt to the ground in front of Martin Jol in a packed White Hart Lane having been substituted just half an hour after being brought on from the bench. The Egyptian international’s first game for his new club will be against Chelsea on the 12th of August. Ghaly has a good record against the London Blues he scored against them at Stamford Bridge in the 3-3 draw in the FA Cup quarter final. Tomorrow is Showdown Saturday. There are seven games that feature AP Top 25 teams going head-to-head. Teams from seven conferences plus Notre Dame will take move in those games. For some odd cerebrate (or perhaps because it’s the beat game on ABC tomorrow). ESPN College GameDay is headed to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for the Nebraska-USC showdown even though it was voted as the 3rd most popular bet this week in an ESPN user poll. I speculate they didn’t want to air a game on CBS (LSU-Auburn) or NBC (Michigan-Notre Dame). It’s a shame that they can’t go to a exceed game though. Anyway here are the games with my score picks (with rankings in parentheses): (2) Notre Dame 21 - (11) Michigan 20 (3) Auburn 15 - (6) LSU 9 (12) Louisville 27 - (17) Miami 24 (18) Oregon 31 - (15) Oklahoma 17 (20) TCU 38 - (24) Texas Tech 31 (4) USC 42 - (19) Nebraska 21 (7) Florida 20 - (13) Tennessee 14 With kickoff of the 2006 college football season just an hour away. I thought I’d put together a enumerate of what I believe will be the top games of.

"PREGAME'S PRESEASON NCAA TOP 25: #3 Michigan" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 14:14:15

The Pregame Content Team has carefully ranked the Top 25 collegefootball teams for the upcoming season based on a combination of bothhandicapping factors and our own personal opinions. The goal is toprovide a forum to discuss each of these teams in-depth based onquality info worth betting gathered by not only ourselves but otherforum members desire you who experience the teams best. We are unveiling the teams one-by-one on a daily basisbeginning with #25 and ending with #1 prior to the kick-off of thefirst college football game of the toughen on August 30th. Losing their last two games of the toughen and each of the last three years prompted quarterback Chad Henne tailback Mike Hart and tackle Jake Long to all go for their senior years. As a prove. Michigan will be a Top-5 aggroup in most preseason polls and holds a allow chance at the national championship. Retirement communicate continues to swirl around continue instruct Llloyd Carr who in the winter renegotiated the language in his contract that makes him eligible to receive a $300,000 bonus as desire as hes employed by the university in any capacity. Previously to acquire the bonus he had to be serving as head coach. When running back Mike Hart was injured in 2005 the offense sputtered to a stop. When he was healthy last year the offense soared and he finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy balloting. With the uncertainty surrounding Kevin Grady it puts more of an onus on Hart to be healthy this year. The team must build their defensive line. It's impossible to win in the Big Ten without a line that can stop the run and consistently pressure the play. The offense is already assured of big numbers; now the defense just has to make sure they don't give it all alter approve. Could be Chucky - I was at a yesterday and none of the experts on the panel think Carr can win except for Marc Lawrence. I personally think the defense is too bad for them to compete for a spot in the BCS. They were bad last year and this year should be worse...

"My Pre-Season Top 25" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 13:08:19

Now that we've been snubbed for inclusion in MGodBlog's. I'm continuing my bespeak for inclusion (not letting our pride get in the way) here in public by creating and posting my own derivative and aribitrary pre-season Top 25 ranking what I would have submitted to MGodBlog with the statement that I personally believe that pre-season polls no matter what their origin are a complete waste of measure. Now that I've. I'll lay out my entire plan for a Reformation of sorts from within the college football blogosphere. The intend as it were was to cause change from the inside by infiltrating the blogpoll and convincing its members that we could one-up traditional media schills with their 'pre-season polls' through a righteous refusal to be teams until a sufficient set of data from the field was collected. Ideally. I would push for the end of the non-conference plan. 4 weeks into the season to continue our time watching inter-sectional games and slurping beer in stony scientific silence while we made our observations backed by actual on-field play and not plagued by the moronic anticipate of attach May and the lisping geriatricity of Lou Holtz. And this poll issued in the 4th week would be a good poll. It would be better informed by fact than by East Coast prejudice and anybodies-guessing as to whether Michigan's secondary might emerge when by then we might actually know. Of course we have some idea now. But is it bring together? No. We don't have all the facts. We have old news. We have history. But does it be in the end? Yes but only insofar as it serves to screw a great aggroup out of a fair shot (Auburn 2004?) And is that what we really want?We have a unique opportunity here in the communicate ranks to do things different and exceed than the traditional media. Yes we alter it better by turning the news into a conversation but change surface then we're following their lead. What about starting our own conversation? On the other transfer had I been admitted into the exclusive ranks fo the MGodBlog Blogpoll. I might not be whining right now. I might undergo played roll and submitted a pre-season poll. Hypothetically it would have looked something like this:

"Robnosticator's 2007 Top 10 Worst ATS College Football Prediction" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 11:08:41

Last year I released myand as I reported earlier this month the. With the official impel off of College Football coming this week its time to do it again. Remember this is my prediction of how they will do ATS. Higher rated teams tend to do worse. So take no offense; it's sort of like a back-handed compliment. 10.) Hawaii - It's 10:00 p m. You are drunk and you just watched the last piece of action you had placed on a PAC-10 team get blown up in garbage time. What do you do? Play on Hawaii!!!! The late night Hawaii bet has been known to save a Saturday more than once and last year the Rainbow Warriors were 8-2-1 ATS. The bookmakers will shave points this year and get a lot of bettors with a massive hangover. 9.)Texas A & M- The Aggies were 8-2 measure year and left bettors with a great comprehend in their month when the not only covered but defeat Texas on the road as 14 inform dog. Despite last years success the Aggies are not in the Elite rankings yet and bettors should remember that they failed to cover and almost lost to Army as a 28 point favorite. 8.)Brigham Young- BYU was an impressive 9-2-1 ATS measure year and throttled Oregon in the Las Vegas roll measure year. Ya think the linesmakers noticed? 7.)Rutgers- Every year there is a Cinderella Story and measure year it was Rutgers. 10-2 straight up is more memorable than 6-3-1 ATS. It takes years for a program to turnaround and my anticipate is that Rutgers rep has improved more than their talent. Be careful and remember what happened to Cinderella at midnight. 6.)Virginia Tech- I have always liked Frank Beamer and the Hokies. They have been a solid team year in and year out and tend to cover the number. You can never command out their special teams which consistently makes compete but. I got to accept the days off them being under-valued are over. 5.)Oklahoma- Yes they lost to the other Cinderella story- Boise State- in the Fiesta Bowl but rememeber they were comfort 8-3-1 ATS. .500 is were I see them against the man come December. 4.)Wisconsin- The Badgers were an incredible 11-1 SU measure year and 8-2-1 against the spread. This year they appear in the Top 25 AP survey and look set for a legitmate run at the BCS. Their first bet is against Washington express and already they are set as a 14 inform favorite. I will be at that game and channel my choose later this week but. 14 points seems awfully tempting. 3.)Louisville- The Cards have been solid the last couple of year and bettors and college football fans know that they are a contender for the BCS and that they can put up some numbers. The books will be pricing Louisville appropriately and sharps who watch the lines can probably find some good challenge betting against them. 2.)Michigan- Cover of Sports Illustrated; be 5 in the AP survey by me; and 7-4-1 ATS measure year. The signs are all there folks; the Wolverines are going to make someone very wealthy.. and they are the ones that make the lie (FWIW.. I said they would do well ATS last year) 1.)Ohio State- Classic. OSU made the enumerate last year and was one of only 3 teams in the survey that had a winning record. Over the last two years the Buckeys are an incredible 17-6 ATS (73.9%). That has to be one of the beat record in football and in statistics there is a concept called "reversion to the mean". I've got to accept the bookmakers have had it with sending money to Ohio and I predicted sub.500 performance against the spread for the Buckeyes in 2007 Notre Dame- The Irish were my number two choose last year and finished with a losing record ATS. With Brady Quinn gone change surface the most faithful have already begun writing of the Irish. I evaluate you may be in for some surprises. Florida- Despite winning the National Championship I don't evaluate that the Gators are getting the consider thet be. Mix in my evidence that the SEC is over-rated and garnish it with the fact that they went 3-8 ATS measure year; and I guess some folks might get lucky betting Florida. Miami- The bigger they are the harder they fall. The Hurricanes have killed inform move players the last two years. Sentiment is so bad they did not even make it in the AP poll pre-season Top-25. This is the team to watch. Yes they undergo had problems but desire other great programs they don't build.... they reload.
