Here is some of what has happened during the NCAA 2007 College Football season to justify knocking the Big Ten down in college football rankings. They’ll be lucky to be a shade above the Big East when it is all said and done. was ranked number five in the nation at the time of this defeat and it is just absurd to think that a program with the kind of athletes that they allegedly recruit could lose to a division two school. Nonetheless they lost proving themselves an overrated football team for the 2007 season. 34 – Big 10 versus the Big 12. The Big Ten is the better conference right? Well the Big 12 certainly is no powerhouse conference but they took care of suffered a huge loss in this game. I’m not talking about Chad Henne. I’m talking about their dignity. The Oregon Ducks completely destroyed the Michigan Wolverines’ defense. Carved them up! And the only reason a game like this did not end all hope for the Wolverines is because they would end up destroying Notre Dame the following week. The problem with a game like this is when a team from superior conference full of prestige and history takes on a mid-major football team you just cannot expect anyone to accept a loss from the BCS conference school. Especially when to lose to Florida Atlantic is even worse because to call them a mid-major football program is an insult to mid-major programs across the nation. from 35-0 in Week 1. This is why I won’t argue that the Big Ten is still better than the Big East. But they rank below the Pac-10 the SEC the Big 12 and the ACC. And they aren’t too much higher than Big East. Ohio express University is still holding stabilise this toughen in the #8 according to the. And the OSU football scene is pretty big in Columbus. Ohio. But if you lived in ho-hum Ohio you would alter football a big thing too. Nevertheless we were pleasantly surprised to find that near OSU you can be at places desire pass Inn. Hampton Inn. Fairfield Inn etc for a cheap determine without seeing bedbugs mold in the bathrooms or dirty sheets. It seems almost all these places are alter and worth it. Goooo Team! The Blackwell Inn is physically located on the OSU campus so walking to the Buckeye games is no problem. The rates here be from about $100 to $150 but the displace has put together special group packages for the football games and we're sure there is some kind of OSU student rate. However like any other place on campus the food is bad. One writes: be away from the Bistro: run do not go. Not great service and really bad food. Our pasta was ice cold and we were the only customers in the restaurant. If we were to travel to OSU for a bet we would probably shack up here. It's change state to the stadium and it has positive consistent and totally realistic To sum it up: The hotel is literally a 2 minute go from OSU campus and from their hotel. The Blackwell Inn. The Blackwell is about the same quality more business class but the pass Inn is about half the determine with remove parking. OSU students also get discounts here but beware: The hotel has hosted guests in town for the National Lionhead Rabbit convention. Yikes! Again we have another cheap but great option come OSU. We haven't seen so many great reviews of these types of hotel/motels anywhere else. Plus if you be here you can totally drop to grade your dwell as did. The standard room was $119 and after my third trip. I decided to pay the extra three dollars for a suite (rate: $122) and it was MUCH nicer. The suites undergo 2 TV's a separate bedroom area cook and fridge. You can totally arrange all your entire fraternity in here at those prices. Beware of this hotel using a cute label to displace in football fans. The determine is dirt cheap at around $50 a night (might be more expensive on bet day) but one guest cited forge in the bathroom. There's also a Bob Evans connected to the displace. But we evaluate you should just consume an extra $50 or so and stay in alleviate at a pass Inn. Man we never thought we would say that.... As always we do this based on what we experience and what we undergo researched but should you undergo your own recommendations or tips then gratify

"Napa Valley Register: Practice Begins" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-09 09:26:17

For a second consecutive year. UC Berkeley is ranked No. 12 to begin the football season according to the ESPN/USA Today Preseason Coaches’ Top 25 poll which was released Friday. This marks the fourth straight year under head instruct Jeff Tedford that Cal has started a season ranked in the coaches’ top 25. Since taking over the schedule in 2002. Tedford has built the Bears into one of the top programs in the country leading Cal to four straight bowl appearances and top 10 national rankings in each of the measure three years. Cal’s 36 wins over the measure four years are the most in any four-year be in over 50 years for the Bears. Cal returns eight offensive starters including confront Mike Gibson a Napa High have who also played at Solano Community College-Suisun. Gibson had an outstanding innovate toughen for the Bears in 2006 earning All-Pac-10 Second-Team honors after moving into the starting lineup in the fourth game of the year. He played in all 13 games with nine starts and recorded 30.5 knockdown blocks. Fall practices for the Bears began Monday at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley. “It’s nice to see the guys all together again,” Tedford said on the educate’s athletic web place. “They worked hard and had a lot of energy. We undergo a lot of work to do but they’re anxious to get it done. I’m excited to get back out here to get into the flow of practice and get the young guys acclimated to what goes on.” All Cal football practices are closed to the public.

"College Football Preview, Take I" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-07 08:28:13

The college football season is nearly upon us. Each week we’ll be putting out a Top 10 (you can sight our Final 2006 rankings ) and we don’t always evaluate you to accept. We’ll start with the furnish half of the Top 10 this week. A prominent communicate from each team is linked up with each ranking. 10. - Really wanted to go with Arkansas here but Darren McFadden can’t pass or handoff to himself. So despite a rugged early plan - at Cal and at Florida in the first three weeks of the toughen - we desire the Vols to be one of the top teams in the SEC. This is of cover assuming that Erik Ainge’s knee holds up and the running backs can forbid clutch and injury. 9. - Last year we made the preseason identify of believing in Cal. Because we got hooked on jaunt’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ thanks to the Sopranos finale we’re once again the shoving chips all in on Cal. Why? The offense is egest the Bears open with Tennessee at domiciliate (and study payback on the object) and get USC at home and did we have in mind the offense is really really awesome? QB Nate Longshore is every bit as good as USC’s John David Booty and though the Bears don’t undergo a stud running approve that most of the other Top 10 teams do. Justin Forsett and two touted redshirt freshman should all be able to cut up defenses.8. – Mel Kiper Jr has been on Brian Brohm’s fasten for quite some measure now and Falcons fans are penciling him in as Atlanta’s No. 1 draft choice in 2008. First he’s got another 3,000-yard passing toughen to complete. There really are only two questions here: 1) will the defense be able to beat the loss of all-world Amobi Okoye and 2) ordain the defense be create from raw material for the biggest bet of the Big East toughen – Nov. 8 at ridiculously-stacked West Virginia? 7. – Quarterback-less due to the graduation of John Stocco that really is our only mind about the Badgers. Decent group of receivers. PJ Hill is a stud RB who probably could top 1,800 yards and the defense should be among the best in the Big 10. Another meek out-of-conference plan beckons so yes expectations should be BCS-or-bust. Michigan comes to Madison but the Badgers undergo to approach Ohio State and Penn express on the road. 6. Florida - We experience Tim Tebow (pictured above) is a ladies man … but is he a drop-back passer? That’s the big air with the National Champs. We’re leery of the Gators fasten bet - there’s no way freshman Chris Rainey ordain not be create from raw material to alter immediately - but then again if WR Percy Harvin can get five carries a game all may be come up. The defense … Oct. 6 at LSU … does any of this matter? Urban Meyer is coaching this assort and as we all experience. Urban Meyer’s tear aid cancer. It’s a grieve Urban Meyer has never cried. Posted by TheBigLead on Friday. August 3rd. 2007 at 7:17 pm. This ordain be Cal’s best offense under Tedford. They’ve had exceed rushing offenses but overall this ordain be the best. Lavelle Hawkins is someone no one talks about and is a freak. Actually. McFadden did kind of transfer off to himself. Many times measure year he lined up under bear on or took direct snaps. It worked pretty well too. Tebow doesn’t be to be a drop-back passer to succeed. And he was a prolific passer in High educate. I don’t see much drop-off for Florida. Not everyone can change state with perennial powerhouses desire Western Kentucky gatorfan. We’ll see how good all those youngsters are in Week 3. If any of the young UT receivers step up. Ainge is going to own this year. Why expend measure analyzing Pac-10 and Big East teams? When validating their high ranking all you need to say is “they don’t have to compete in the SEC.” I’m a Tennessee fan and I ordain respectfully accept that UT is too high. I can see them being there if they win a couple of those early games but right now too many challenge marks. I hope so though. Yes I am bias because I grew up a Gator Fan! However. I don’t see UT ending the toughen playing Free Shoes University every year and the SEC Championship Game which if they lost would knock them out of the NC picture. Voters dont be at how you go away the toughen but how you end! You could suffer to Cal and comfort be in capture. I’m in the Tennessee hatin’ displace too they’ll be lucky to win 8 games. No way they’re top ten. Top 5 should be:USC (easily undefeated)Michigan (should act upon the Big 10)West Virginia (color/Slaton show)Florida (Tebow’s a beast and that girls tits are inspiring)Florida State (Jimbo Fisher and that defense) TBL are you slipping…. the end of the toughen you had Louisville at #6 and that’s with Brohm leaving… now he stays and you have them at #8. gratify express us you don’t have Michigan in the top 5. You know Lloyd “I drink and choke at the same measure” Carr ordain sight a way to fuck it up for them. Currently. Tebow is That Dude who can run into the alter align of the line. In a month we’ll see if he’s That Dude who can actually compete play. I’ve seen that pic about fifty times and every time I think to myself (or say aloud) “Sweet Jesus what fantastic tits”! Tim Tebow should get the Heisman just for nailing that girl and enjoying those fun bags. 1) FSU top 5? Why does FSU always get pre-season air when they act to undergo no offense every year and suffer at least 3-4 games. They are done. They undergo talent but they haven’t been able to put it together in desire 5-6 years. drop about them. They comfort don’t undergo a QB or running approve. No way. 2) As to why Louisville might drop 2 spots after being #6 measure year they did lose their great great continue instruct which could easily be worth 2 spots.

"Will the Seminoles Rebound in 2007?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-05 08:27:09

Yesterday I reviewed the Athlon pre-season college football rankings to analyse in on what the experts evaluate about Florida State’s prospects this year.  After last toughen’s all-time low (hopefully) following seasons of change state. I didn’t expect the Seminoles to be in the top ten.  I found them at #26 which is somewhat of a sign of respect from the pollsters.  The USA Today pre-season poll has the ‘Noles in the top 25.  So what can we evaluate this year from the once great college football dynasty?  Here are my thoughts. measure year was the most frustrating season in recent history for Florida State fans.  Each game we endured watching a physically talented yet inept offense get bet after game on the table reminded us that nepotism was Bobby Bowden’s major weakness as a continue instruct.  Many of us wondered how desire Coach Bowden the university or even college football as a collective whole could allow such injustice - the destruction of his father’s schedule by Jeff Bowden - to act.  Finally something gave (as in a $500,000 buyout) and major changes were made. We’ll likely sight out early in the toughen how much of an improvement the new offensive coaching staff has made from what they inherited after last season.  Most people would agree that there’s no way they could be worse especially with the talent that consistently walks the Florida State practice handle.  Considering the recent accomplishments of Jimbo Fisher. I’d evaluate that he could meet the contend of placing FSU approve into the Top 10. One obstacle the Seminoles approach this year is their tough schedule.  One ESPN columnist ranks FSU’s schedule the second most difficult in the nation this season.  Away games at Virginia Tech. Boston College and Florida are all ones for which the Seminoles could be considered underdogs.  If things haven’t improved offensively from what was brought to the handle last year those three games are almost sure losses.  However if the offense has been reconstructed as we hope the ‘Noles can put the worry into anyone they approach this season. Although I’d like to see this season become a miraculous time-warp back to 1999. I’m doubtful that Florida express will become what it used to be until Bobby Bowden retires.  It’s been apparent over the past few seasons - with turmoil among players and his jawing about fans’ and boosters’ demands for dress - that he has lost a significant amount of the consider on and off the handle that he used to be.  The trick plays and unpredictability that used to be the signature of FSU football have apparently died and with Coach Bowden growing older by the day it’s difficult to imagine that fast paced in-your-face call being resurrected.  With that perspective. I’d conclude pretty good with a 9-3 record and a bowl-game win.
